Learning Together for Life

Class 2 - Downham Market Heritage Centre - 12th October 2016

Wednesday October 12th saw Class 2 children come to school dressed as Tudors. As part of their learning this term the children experienced a Tudor day. The highlight of the day was visiting Downham Market Heritage Centre. The staff and volunteers at the Centre were able to plan and deliver a whole day of activities to reinforce what they had been learning. They investigated different objects that they wouldn’t use today while matching them with their modern day counterparts. Other activities were looking at how the Tudors dressed, what they ate and the games they played.

As part of PE sessions the children learnt some dances of the era. To finish their work the children celebrated their learning by doing an assembly for parents, carers and friends. This included two of the dances they had learnt in lessons.

Class two were delighted with their performance and the audience were known to have tittered in places. A huge well done to everyone involved in organising the day and ensuring it went without a hitch.

Well done Class two and all adults involved.
