World Book Day - 15th March 2018

Thursday  15th March 2018.

Today was the day the children at Runcton Holme came dressed in different clothes. Today was World Book Day a week later than normal due to the adverse weather on the actual day. It saw the children not dressed in uniform but dressed as a character from their favourite book.

The school chose to offer a competition for those who wore the best costume from a list of authors. The authors in question were, Roald Dahl, Julia Donaldson, Jacqueline Wilson, J. K. Rowling, Michael Morpurgo, or a character from the Bible.

The competition was won by Archie Weir in Class one. He came as the Stick Man by Julia Donaldson. Archie received a certificate and a book token.

The Friends of Runcton Holme served tea and coffee with cakes and biscuits in the hall while parents and relatives enjoyed listening to their children reading in the reading café. At the end of the morning the total amount raised by the refreshments was £60.00.
