Downham Market Rotary Club’s Shoebox Appeal - Tuesday 8th December

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions we were unable to take part in our traditional and much loved Christmas trip this year.  Instead we took part in running our very own Santa’s workshop and supported Downham Market Rotary Club’s Shoebox Appeal.

Holycross Federation would like to thank Parents, Families and staff for their kind and generous donations of presents, clothes, toiletries and treats for the people who perhaps wouldn’t have got a Christmas present at all this year.  In total we filled 73 shoe boxes for newborn babies, children, teenagers and the elderly.  I am sure that will put a few smiles on faces around the world this Christmas.  It feels great to have spread some love and hope after what has been such a difficult year for many.  As a Christian community we are proud to have taken part in such a worthwhile event.

The children and staff had a great time packing and decorating the boxes whilst dressing in our finest Christmas Jumpers.  It was a great morning at Wormegay and afternoon at Runcton Holme and a perfect way to get into the swing of Christmas.

On that note, have a very Happy and healthy Christmas and we will see you in the New Year!
