Welcome to the Holy Cross Federation website and welcome to our schools. We hope that the information you find here gives you a feel for what our schools are like and starts to answer questions you may have.
Runcton Holme Primary joined together with Wormegay Primary in January 2012 to become Holy Cross Federation Schools. This was a way of formalising what has been a very successful partnership for the past fifteen years. The schools share one Governing Body and one Headteacher. The schools’ pupils and staff benefit from sharing expertise and resources and work closely with one another. Both schools are proud to be Church of England schools and in October 2014 became academies as part of the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust (DEMAT).
The children that attend our schools come to school knowing that they will learn, feel safe and happy, and be encouraged to strive towards achieving the best that they can. They are supported, nurtured and challenged throughout their journey through primary school from the day they enter the gates as a new member of our Reception class, to the moment they leave and move on to high school. We pride ourselves in helping children to feel valued, as individuals, as part of our school family and as part of our wider community and to be proud of what they achieve in their lives.
As a Church School, it is important to us all that we maintain our Christian ethos and our school prayer echoes the values of the school. We are a school for the education of all children of all faiths and none.
We give you our school.
We give you all the children who learn here,
We give you all the teachers and staff who work here.
We pray our school would be place of great discovery, adventure and creativity.
May it be a place where we love to learn and where we learn to love,
A place where everyone is respected and all are deeply valued.
We ask all this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
I pride myself on getting to know each of the children who come to our school, along with their siblings, parents and extended family. The partnership between the parents, pupils, staff and Governors of our school is crucial to ensuring that we can provide the best education and start in life that each child deserves. As Headteacher of both schools, I will endeavour to spend equal time in each school across the week, seeing the children in class and on the playground. All the children in our federation are my priority. Please do not hesitate to come and see me should you have any concerns or worries.
Should you wish to visit either of the schools, or would like to arrange an appointment with me please contact the office and I am more than happy to meet with you or show you around our schools.
